About Jammu
Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu & Kashmir, was the seat of the Dogra rulers. The city is known for its many temples, the largest being the 19th-century Raghunath Temple complex. Bahu Fort, on a hill above the Tawi, houses the Bawe Wali Mata temple and terraced Bagh-e-Bahu gardens. The Mubarak Mandi palace complex and the Amar Mahal Museum show off Dogra architecture and Pahari paintings. Jammu is also the gateway to Katra and Vaishno Devi.
